Behind this minimalist packaging you will find a wine far from being minimalistic. L. Preston is a "Rhone blend" from the organic farm Preston, located deep into Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma, California.
Pleasant, and somewhat generic in style. Fruit forward, lots of spicy fruit, vanilla, dark berries and chocolate. Velvety mouthfeel, soft tannins and full bodied, decent acidity preventing it from appearing flabby. A powerful palate dominated by ripe fruit. One dimensional perhaps, but a Californian crowd pleaser for sure. Well crafted (86/100).
Food pairing: Barbeque, or why not with a chili con carne.
More about the producer: Preston of Dry Creek.
